Ultimately, visual art won the battle and I attended Baltimore School for the Arts where I studied drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. In 2002, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of MD, College Park with a degree in Fine Art (after a brief, rather pathetic stint in pre-med).
After honing my graphic design skills at Parsons in NY, I worked as an Art Director for some of the top ad agencies in Manhattan, including Saatchi & Saatchi and Grey Advertising. I also volunteered for various non-profits including the Women’s Expressive Theater and the New Life Project. In 2007, I decided I’d had enough of New York, and bought a one-way ticket to Australia where I backpacked around for 10 months exploring my love for photography and adventure. I returned home completely broke and moved to LA where I currently reside and work as a graphic designer. I am proud to say I am now only marginally broke.
